How to be an Irresistible City Maker

This tool is an interactive and engaging design sprint toward creating concrete images of irresistible circular cities of the future. Participants will develop future scenarios to reflect on and discuss what needs to be taken into consideration when developing thriving and inclusive future cities. The Desire Principles will guide and inspire the participants to do so together. The tool makes the participants reflect on crucial questions like, what role can you play and what other actors/roles do we need to get on board to design the irresistible circular city?
Description - What is this tool?

This tool is an interactive and engaging design sprint toward creating concrete images of irresistible circular cities of the future. Participants will develop future scenarios to reflect on and discuss what needs to be taken into consideration when developing thriving and inclusive future cities. 

The Desire Principles will guide and inspire the participants to do so together. The tool makes the participants reflect on crucial questions like, what role can you play and what other actors/roles do we need to get on board to design the irresistible circular city?

Purpose - Why should we use this tool?

The purpose of this tool is to spark participants’ imagination by creating alternative future scenarios and gain insights into what roles, actors, and partnerships are necessary to reach the desired future. It helps highlight both what you should continue to do but also what you should start doing differently tomorrow.

Duration - How much time is needed?

You can set aside approximately 1,5 hours for this tool. You can also choose to spend longer and achieve more detailed future scenarios. You can choose to incorporate the tool as part of a bigger workshop and allot extra time for discussions and reflections upon the insights gained from the Irresistible City Makers tool.

  • Use the cards for step number 3 and 5. 
  • Print all materials and attach the arrow to the step-two-poster.
