The Closing Circle Ritual

This tool is a closing ritual meant to celebrate what you have achieved together throughout a project or transformation process.
Description - What is this tool?

This tool is a closing ritual meant to celebrate what you have achieved together throughout a project or transformation process.

By gathering all project partners, the tool helps mark an important milestone, taking the time to look back with appreciation for each other and the work you have accomplished.

- Make everyone stand up and gather outside in a circle. Close your eyes for 5 minutes and listen and think and reflect.

- Read a manifesto or an inspirational text about the project out loud.

- While keeping our eyes closed, reflect and think about a feeling, a state of mind, a memory, or the most impactful experience or learning.

- What one thing will stay with you from being part of the project?

- Think about what touched you, how your assumptions changed, and what is the most impactful experience you can recall.

- When you open your eyes, write it down on a piece of paper/post-it.

- When you have written it down, please share if you want.

- People will just “pop”. Close your circle by putting all the papers on a wall to see the collective knowledge.

Purpose - Why should we use this tool?

The purpose of this tool is to help round off a project in a ritualistic, celebratory, and appreciative way. It marks how far you have come and all the things you have accomplished together.
